The use of equipment in the field of medicine is a routine occurrence, how little we may know and understand about that equipment is truly remarkable. In everyday life we may purchase a new appliance or automobile and are encouraged to read the operators instructions, register the warranties and ensure we perform our routine maintenance to get the most out of our hard earned money. Why then do we not treat the medical equipment that staff work with everyday, and which could have such a profound impact to the patient in the same manner?
