What Will I Learn?
Biofilms are highly organized microbial communities which contain bacteria that are much more resistant to antimicrobials. Delayed cleaning, residual organics, rinsing with tap water, and incomplete drying all increase biofilm risk on flexible endoscopes. It is important to understand how biofilms are formed, and to learn effective steps to prevent biofilm formation on endoscopes.
The Objectives of this CE Webinar are to:
- Discuss the conditions encouraging biofilm formation
- Describe the characteristics making a biofilm a formidable threat
- Explain how to prevent biofilm formation and eliminate those in place
